Your affirmations could be about talking to the opposite sex, or speaking up for yourself at work, or having the confidence to speak to strangers at a party.  It doesn’t matter what they are about, as long as they match the actions or ‘state’ that you think is typical of a confident person with high self esteem.

 
2. The Formula of Affirmations For Self Esteem

  • Your affirmations for self esteem need to follow four basic principles: 
           – they need to be in the first person
           - they must be in the present tense
           – they must be affirmative in nature  (never use words like   not,  don’t, won’t, can’t, and no);
           - they need to be about specific actions (using the standards you came up with in step one).

For example:

  • “I am self-reliant and disciplined in following my exercise program.”
  • “I am assertive and persuasive in my business discussions.”
  • “I am easily able to approach women and strangers and engage them in conversations.”
  • “I am an expert at closing sales.”

Once you have written down your positive affirmations for self esteem, there’s only one thing left for you to do:

3. Rehearse Your Affirmations

Using affirmations for self esteem is something you must do on a consistent and ongoing basis if you want to get lasting results – it should become a part of life, just like brushing your teeth.

The best approach is to say your affirmations out loud in the morning and in the evening. Remember that training your mind is really no different to training your body.  It is a lifelong commitment to your personal health development and success.
